You will be working on Buttercup Ward which is our 8 bedded CAMHS PICU service for young people aged 12-18 with severe mental illness. The ward can positively support females who may need a longer stay in an inpatient setting within a low secure environment. The service provides a care and treatment pathway for individuals who may have complex mental health issues and whose needs and risks are such they need to be supported in this environment. Your role responsibilities… Provide high quality treatment under the direction of a Consultant Psychiatrist Assess referrals & undertake mental state examinations of service users Participate in weekly ward rounds & attend multidisciplinary meetings Attend Care Programme Approach & Section 117 meetings & mental health review tribunals Provide up-to-date clinical information at all meetings Ensure that medical decisions are implemented as planned Audit medical services & ensure compliance with GMC & other professional guidelines Uphold policies & procedures and contribute to service governance & development Participate in the On call rota Why Cygnet? You’ll also have an educational supervisor to review your progress and oversee your development – and you’ll receive support with MRCPsych exams.
