Job Title - Commercial Manager Job Location - Livingston Job Type - Permanent Join a leading specialist subcontractor and manufacturer of timber-aluminium clad windows and doors in Livingston as a Commercial Manager overseeing the QS division for UK contracts. This role offers a clear path to advance to Commercial Director with competitive remuneration up to £95,000. Key Highlights: - Manage the QS division for UK contracts. - Progression opportunity to Commercial Director. - Responsible for negotiation and administration of JCT, NEC, and Design Contracts. - Attractive salary package up to £95,000. Key Responsibilities: Lead negotiation and administration of JCT, NEC, and design contracts, including modifications. Manage dispute resolution using knowledge of construction law. Oversee and develop the Quantity Surveyor team in handling subcontract transactions (applications, variations, cashflow, etc.). Take the lead in tender scope evaluation and pricing to ensure well-defined bids. Provide financial oversight (P&L) for all contracting projects. Support senior teams in contract assessments and final account settlements. Manage subcontractor orders and procurement strategies in collaboration with supply chain services. Prepare and present reports to senior management and board members. Drive change management in line with contract requirements. Ensure adherence to bonds, warranties, and insurance requirements while mitigating associated risks. What We’re Looking For: Essential: Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction field. Proven experience in contract negotiation and administration (JCT, NEC, design contracts). Extensive knowledge of construction law and its application in negotiations and disputes. Strong leadership experience, including managing a Quantity Surveying team. Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships. Commercially astute with P&L accountability and financial reporting experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Teams, PowerPoint). Full UK Driving Licence. Desirable: RICS or CIOB membership. Recognised Health & Safety qualification. Experience in curtain walling, windows, doors & facades.
