You will oversee a team of Quantity Surveyors and junior staff, supporting their development, mitigating risks, and maintaining strong client relationships. Commercial Manager Skills: Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience. Proven experience managing multiple commercial projects worth £10m and above. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage complex information efficiently. Solid understanding of construction methodologies. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Experience in managing and developing a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong leadership and management skills. Proactive, results-driven, and capable of working with minimal supervision. Strong commercial awareness and in-depth understanding of project financials. Ability to manage and mitigate risks effectively. Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and safety. As a Commercial Manager, you will: Lead and ensure adherence to commercial procedures and templates across the team. Oversee and support Quantity Surveyors and junior staff, minimising risks and avoiding contractual exposure. Assist with pre-qualification and tender submissions, supporting the team in cost estimation and procurement. Take full commercial ownership of new projects and manage the handover process from Pre-Construction. Conduct project cost reviews and ensure cost targets are met or exceeded. Keep senior management informed of any issues that may impact project profitability. Ensure subcontract and purchase orders align with contract terms to reduce commercial risk. Approve payment certificates and manage financial commitments in line with company policies. Monitor and manage project risks to safeguard the business. Ensure all contract documentation is completed in line with company policies, particularly concerning insurance, bonds, and warranties. Oversee monthly valuation schedules to ensure proper cash flow management and timely approvals. Review and approve cost reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to review schedules. Manage final accounts and ensure timely submission. Oversee retention monies and ensure timely applications. Support team performance development, setting objectives and monitoring progress. Work with senior leadership to manage resource needs, including recruitment and performance management. Maintain professionalism in dealings with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure confidentiality in all business matters. Uphold and enforce company health and safety policies. The Package : An excellent package will be put in place for the successful candidate, with a basic salary of £85,000 - £90,000 vehicle a strong package including 26 days annual leave, pension, health cover and life insurance.
