What you’ll do
Join us as a Livestock Sourcing Specialist, partnering with producers to meet our growing Greenstock demand, exemplified by sourcing 11,500 lambs weekly in Stawell. You'll build strong producer and agent relationships, leveraging your expertise in commercial negotiations, sustainability, and animal welfare. As a subject matter expert, you'll manage our livestock supply chain, providing strategic pricing input and implementing our Protein strategy to ensure quality and sourcing standards are met. Proactively identify opportunities, maintain quality, welfare, and sustainability, and contribute to our team's success in sourcing lamb and other proteins.
* Manage and deliver with the team the quarterly, monthly, weekly and daily strategic sourcing operations ensuring supply, quality and compliance requirements, metrics and standards are met.
* Partner with our suppliers to drive value for our producers, Greenstock and customers.
* Utilise data to inform and drive decisions, leveraging Greenstock systems and processes and ensure delivery of livestock in full and on time to specifications, including to Greenstock animal welfare and sustainability standards.
* Manage and keep up to date systems and communications with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. This includes scheduling, contracting, booking and confirmation of records for payment and supplier engagement.
* Operationalise sustainability and animal welfare initiatives, including coordinating and hosting producer workshops.
* Continue to look for and share improvements in strategic sourcing and producer partnerships, including building relationships across the red meat industry, Greenstock and the Woolworths ecosystem.
What you’ll bring
* Previous experience in agriculture and sound knowledge of farming / the rural sector.
* Experience in sourcing and supplier relationship management.
* Sound communication, interpersonal & stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines with tight time constraints.
* Have the capabilities to work individually to achieve the best outcome for the entire team.
* Sound computer skills, able to use data driven decisions for recommendations.
* Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving and analysis skills.
* Ability to travel often to our regional and rural locations and partners, including overnight trips.
