About The Role
As an Attendance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that students are attending school regularly and punctually. You will work alongside the Pastoral Team and the Trust Educational Welfare Officer to reduce absenteeism and ensure the welfare of our students. Your efforts will directly contribute to enhancing the learning experience by helping students engage with their education fully.

Position Details:
Location: Sheffield
Contract: Permanent, 37 hours per week x 41 weeks per year
Pay scale: £26,307.17 to £28,561.45 (under 5 years of service) per annum
Essential Requirements
* GCSE/Level 2 qualification in Maths and English.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SIMS, and other relevant ICT systems.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
Skills
* Proficiency in using MIS systems (e.g., SIMS, Arbor).
* Ability to analyse attendance data and identify trends.
* Confidence in liaising with parents/carers and external agencies.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
* High levels of professionalism and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
* Monitor student attendance and liaise with staff, parents, and students to identify patterns of absenteeism.
* Conduct late gate duties to ensure students arrive on time and ready to learn.
* Ensure all registers are completed accurately and promptly.
* Track and monitor student absences, providing timely interventions.
* Lead attendance interviews with students and families to address concerns.
* Ensure all attendance-related actions comply with school policies.
* Maintain and update accurate records for parental meetings and home visits.
* Provide guidance on attendance protocols and procedures.
* Manage the sign-in and sign-out process for students.
* Effective communication skills to engage with students, parents, and staff.
