An exciting opportunity has arisen at Stoke City Football Club of the English Football League for an Academy Education Tutor. The role will be based Training Ground Facility at Clayton Wood in Trent Vale. The Education department plays a key role in supporting the development of young players at the Club. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with players in an elite environment to build on the recent success of the Academy in progressing players to the first team. The role will require the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, and to develop and lead ideas within the Education department and the wider Academy environment. Reporting to the Academy Head of Education, the successful applicant will prepare, deliver and assess across the education framework, predominantly within the professional development phase (U18's), however there will be requirements across other phases including education reviews and contributing towards the Life Skills programme for all Academy players. They will be an integral member of the Education team and will be able to build and formalise relationships with players across different phases to support their academic and holistic progress. In addition, they will also be required to assist on the Life Skills programme and support the Head of Player Care and Safeguarding as needed.
* Proven knowledge of education and experience with young people.
* Teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE).
* Knowledge of the BTEC framework.
* Knowledge of the Sporting Excellence Professional (SEP).
* Experience of working in a Football Academy (desirable) and a multidisciplinary team.
* Confidence in developing ideas, being innovative and pushing boundaries in the interest of player development.
* Planning work independently and meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of the requirements of elite football (desirable).
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high degree of flexibility to cover evenings and weekends work as required. The position will be offered on a full time basis.
