My clieny in the Infrastructure & Commercial section seeks a Contract Drainage Engineer to join their accomplished Flood and Coastal team. As the Lead Local Flood Authority, they deliver a range of flood and coastal projects while offering support to Highways, Bridges, and Structures Teams as needed. Key Responsibilities: Deliver flood and coastal projects within specific timescales using appropriate software packages Conduct inspection, feasibility, design, contract preparation, and site supervision of various projects Produce drawings using AutoCAD Assist in preparing tender documentation according to industry standard conditions of contract Project management of schemes, including client, public, and stakeholder consultation and liaison Assess flood risk implications of new development and design drainage strategies Utilise GIS for identifying and communicating local flood risk Process applications for Ordinary Watercourse Consent Raise awareness of the team's role with planners and developers Provide technical advice to the team, other colleagues in the City Council, and partner organisations Participate in local area studies such as surface water management plans, local flooding investigations, and preparing funding bids Job Requirements: Expertise in hydraulic and drainage design, including sustainable drainage systems Experience in flood, drainage, and coastal erosion, particularly related to the Lead Local Flood Authority's responsibilities per the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 (FWMA) High level of self-motivation and a flexible approach to working arrangements Proficient operational knowledge in relevant areas If you are a self-motivated Drainage Engineer with a significant experience in flood risk and highway drainage, and you are looking for a rewarding contract role, we invite you to apply now to join their dynamic Flood and Coastal team
