Role: Head of Admissions
Salary: Competitive
Hours: Full Time however negotiable for the right candidate
Closing date for applications: noon 5th March 2025
Are you someone who enjoys talking and listening to young people and their parents, learning more about them and letting them know about what we can offer? Are you someone who yearns to work in a small and very happy school rather than a large Corporate?
This job is about selling the school and being our biggest cheerleader. We are an exciting, progressive and inclusive school who like to think we are a bit different from the options out there. We believe that children have the power to change the world and that we are a school that can unlock a child’s destiny. Kingswood House School believes that education should be about discovering each child’s unique path to their future.
If you like the idea of being part of a team that works hard to achieve our aims and has fun along the way then this is the place for you.
You will be forging relationships with prospective parents and pupils, helping them to navigate the journey to a new school. You’ll be their first point of contact and guide them through the process with the warm and nurturing spirit we are renowned for. Being organised with an eye for detail goes without saying as you’ll have to be on top of the data, chasing leads and be willing to monitor all of our applications.
The nitty gritty
We need someone who ‘gets us’ and understands the core values of the school, who is willing to hit the ground running and achieve our mission of filling our places with pupils who are keen to be part of a school that does not fit the usual ‘Surrey Independent School’ template.
You’ll need to be happy to present to pupils and parents and to learn about the nuts and bolts of what we offer.
You’ll need to be happy to represent us outside in the wider world and tell our story.
You’ll need a sense of humour, collaborative and communication skills, and a belief that school should be fun all the way up to 16 years old.
You’ll need to be able to be discreet when it’s needed and shout from the rooftops about us when it isn’t.
You’ll need to be willing to roll your sleeves up and make sure we always look our best for a visit, organise the logistics of our open days, and make sure everyone knows about them.
Apart from joining the best school community for miles around, there are lots of benefits including a great pension, our own pay scale, free lunch, all the tea and toast you can manage, and many more.
We are uncompromising on safeguarding and wellbeing standards and these apply to children and also to our staff. Our collaborative working environment promotes both personal and professional development and supports wellness and respect in the workplace.
As a result, we’ll need a completed application form, rather than just a CV. You’ll need to be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Interested applicants are encouraged to submit a completed application as soon as possible. The School reserves the right to interview and appoint before the closing date, if a suitable candidate presents themselves.
