Planning Enforcement Officer Full Time 37 hours per week Permanent Band 9 (£34,314 - £37,035) We are growing ourPlanning Enforcement Team at Melton and a key position has become available inour busy, professional and dedicated Development Management team as a PlanningEnforcement Officer. Melton is an excitingand attractive Borough where the Council is successfully balancing itspro-development policies in its Local Plan with the need to maintain itsattractive rural, built and historic environment. We are proud of our brandrecognition as the Rural Capital of Food. You will undertakeand assist with the investigation of alleged breaches of planning control,negotiate improvements where formal enforcement action may not be expedient,and pursue formal action where necessary including the serving of enforcementnotices, dealing with some appeals and, in the most extreme cases, working withour Legal team to secure prosecution through the Courts. You will carry outthe full duties of the post in accordance with the legislative requirements andthe Councils statutory duties, policies and priorities. You will also play akey part in helping us shape the Planning Enforcement Service that will bettermeet the needs of the Boroughs residents and businesses. We are looking for anenthusiastic and highly organised person with excellent written, numeracy andverbal communication skills. You will be educated to degree level or similar orwilling to commence study to achieve an RTPI recognised qualification. Relevant experiencein Planning Enforcement at Local Authority level is desirable in this role.
