To act as PCFT representative at local borough MARAC meetings, sharing relevantmental health or learning disability information to inform discussions and decisionmaking. MARAC is a meeting where information is shared on the highest risk domesticabuse cases between representatives of local police, health child protection, housingpractitioner, Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVAs), probation and otherspecialists from the statutory and voluntary sectors.To feedback outcomes into the Trusts care planning, risk assessment andsafeguarding arenas.To act as a representative to ensure that the voice of the child and vulnerable adultsis heard where domestic violence is a factor in their household.To provide specialist advice, guidance and training to staff of all disciplines withinPCFT.To provide specialist mental health subject knowledge to MARAC partner agencies tosupport understanding around mental health concerns/processes/appropriate accessto services.To promote and work to, the aims and objectives of the Domestic Violence and abuse Policy.Main duties and responsibilities To attend regular local MARAC meetings as a Trust representative and feedinto this process. Liaise with multi-agency partners in the MARAC process. To complete comprehensive research in preparation for MARAC meetings. Complete and contribute to reports for victims and/or perpetrators who are opento mental health services.AFC 16/11/22 JME-236-22 MARAC Representative Band 6 Inform mental health colleagues and update systems regarding MARACprocesses and risk assessments. To refer victims identified as high risk into the MARAC process and to attendMARAC to advocate on their behalf to ensure their needs and wishes arereflected in action plans. To undertake dynamic assessments which explore; family history, familyfunctioning, interpersonal relationships, behaviour management (self andfamily) barriers to education and work, barriers to independence and selfmanagement. To produce or contribute to clear action plans with outcomesbased on robust assessment. To understand the legal framework relating to the protection of children,including the policies and procedures of the Local Safeguarding ChildrensBoard. To escalate to management any cases where there are ongoing safeguardingor risk management concerns. To ensure any recommendations from Domestic Homicide Reviews areembedded into service provision.
