PCB Layout Engineer
A new position as a PCB Layout Engineer is now available at an innovative company specialising in radio frequency and telecommunications products for defence and commercial applications. This company works alongside experienced RF, electronics, and mechanical engineers to develop high-performance solutions, ensuring manufacturability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and layout multi-layer, mixed-technology electronic circuits for telecommunications and defence products.
* Collaborate with electrical engineers to optimise component placement, routing, and signal integrity.
* Ensure designs comply with manufacturability guidelines, electrical constraints, and design rules.
* Manage and maintain a library of components, footprints, and symbols.
* Generate and maintain detailed design documentation, including assembly drawings, BOMs, and stack-up definitions.
* Assist with testing, debugging, and prototype manufacturing.
* Address component obsolescence issues and recommend suitable alternatives.
The Ideal PCB Layout Engineer Will Have:
* Experience in circuit schematic capture, multi-layer PCB layout, and manufacturing pack generation using Altium Designer.
* Strong understanding of PCB fabrication and assembly processes.
* Proficiency in stack-up definitions for transmission line impedance requirements.
* Ability to use version control systems (SVN, Git) within Altium Designer.
* Knowledge of RF/microwave circuit design and implementation (desirable).
