Join our team as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, a role crucial for those passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Day-to-day of the role:
- Support the educational and social development of students with special educational needs and/or social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.
- Collaborate with teachers to tailor learning activities to the individual needs of students, ensuring effective engagement.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Support Plans.
- Provide one-to-one support and facilitate small group sessions to enhance student learning and development.
- Monitor and support the wellbeing of students, serving as a positive role model.
- Maintain accurate records of students' progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents as required.
- Help create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with SEND/SEMH students.
- Knowledge of strategies to establish a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to student development.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
