The Role of Deputy Care Home Manager - Nurse
1. As the Clinical Deputy Care Home Manager of an Abbeyfield care home, you'll support with the delivery of quality care for our residents.
2. Working alongside the Registered Manager and taking on leadership duties in their absence, you can expect to help with everything from ensuring care standards, to motivating and developing your team.
3. That means leading by example and monitoring standards through regular audits, supervised clinical practice and meeting CQC requirements.
4. You will need to help manage risks within the home, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and policies, so that a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors is maintained.
5. Preparation, implementation and review of their personal care plans, including the administering of medication.
6. You'll supervise, support coach and develop other team members, and liaise with people involved in resident's care, as well as with the residents themselves. Put simply, you'll ensure residents' needs and wishes are at the centre of the care we provide.

About You
20. To join us a Clinical Deputy Care Home Manager, you’ll need to be a Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with current NMC registration.
21. Experience working at a supervisory team leadership level in a similar (ideally elderly care) person centred care and support role, within a registered care setting.
22. Knowledge of and ability to apply the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2010, the Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009 and the Care Act 2014/15.
23. Experience of managing teams; manage staff performance, apply formal disciplinary processes, and develop and retain talent. Assist in the interview recruitment process, in conjunction with the home manager and be responsible for mentoring new staff.
Please note this role will require eligibility to work in the UK, two satisfactory employment references and an Enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be met by Abbeyfield.
