Outdoor Education Assistant
Location: Redruth
Employment Type: Full time, Permanent
Vision for Education are currently looking for an active Teaching Assistant who is seeking a new Outdoor Education role. This position is permanent and full time.
In this role, you will be working on a 1:1 basis with students with SEMH needs. Each day will be different, and you will be off the school site most days. Throughout the week, you will participate in a variety of outdoor activities, including:
1. Mountain bike cycling
2. Rock climbing
3. Hill walking
You will also visit different locations to learn and develop SEMH skills.
Due to the high amount of physical activity, we are ideally looking for someone with previous experience and a strong passion for outdoor activities. Previous Teaching Assistant experience is desired but not essential.
The school is a SEMH setting aimed at providing social, emotional, and academic support to a small group of students aged 5-16. Each Teaching Assistant works 1:1 or 2:1 with the students and is responsible for each pupil when off-site.
The role is from 08:30 to 15:30, Monday to Friday. Regular reports and meetings will be held with staff and other educational professionals. Prior to starting the role, you will need to undergo a DBS check through Vision for Education, unless you already have one relating to children on the Update Service. We will also require references from your most recent and relevant employers.
