Job Purpose:We are looking for an experiencedManual Millerto machine components to a high standard, ensuring all parts meet customer specifications and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:Machine components according to the route card and technical drawings.
Assist in the fitting of components as needed.
Identify the operations required from the provided drawings.
Operate and set manual milling machines to customer specifications and company standards.
Determine the appropriate speeds and feeds for each component.
Produce high-precision parts using conventional milling machines, adhering to exact standards.
Correctly position components into the machine, utilizing lifting equipment where necessary.
Ensure quality by measuring first-offs using hand tools like Verniers and micrometers before proceeding with further machining.
Identify and select the tools needed for each task and escalate any issues to the Production Supervisor.
Follow company procedures, practices, and policies.
Ensure all tasks meet the requirements of ISO 9001 and OEL Quality Systems and Procedures.
Comply with OEL's Health & Safety Systems and Procedures.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:Previous experience in a similar manual milling role is essential.
Ability to read, interpret, and communicate technical engineering drawings.
Manual Handling and Overhead Crane training/experience are required.
Relevant apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Engineering/Machining is desirable.
Strong team-working and communication skills.
A flexible and proactive approach to work.
Proven planning and organizational skills to meet departmental and business objectives.
Ability to maintain the integrity of the company's operations while meeting deadlines.
