My client in Forfar (Scotland) is currently in need of a CNC Machine Operator Milling/Turning due to expansion.
Job Purpose Summary:
To ensure that machining operations within Alpha XL are carried out safely, efficiently and to a high-quality standard to meet our customer requirements. This includes machine programming/setting and machine maintenance.
Job Requirements:
1. Perform mainly turning and milling duties to meet customer requirements.
2. Operate and set CNC machines, mills & lathes, typical machines would be (additional training would be available to successful applicant):
* Mills:
o Haas VF6 VMC with Haas Controller.
o Dugard 1100- 4th Axis with Mitsubishi Controller.
o Bridgeport VMC with Heidenhain Controller.
* Lathes:
o Nakamura AS 200L – live tooling/bar feed with Fanuc Controller.
o Doosan Puma 2600Y – live tooling with Fanuc Controller.
o Haas SL 2 with Haas Controller.
* Follow maintenance schedules and carry out routine maintenance of machines within Machine Shop.
* Ability to work in a team environment.
* Contribute to the implementation, then continued improvement of a QHSE System to support the Machining Division.
* Perform all duties in accordance with work instructions, inspection requirements, current legislation.
QHSE Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrate correct health and safety behaviours and actively encourage the ownership of and commitment to the effective implementation of the Health and Safety management system throughout the business.
2. Actively intervene in any unsafe act or condition that may be identified.
3. Take full personal and legal responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of all personnel ensuring the following:
* Provide and maintain a safe place of work.
* Develop and implement safe working methods.
1. Ensure a firm understanding of, and compliance with, the documented controls and processes, including the Procedures, Risk Assessments and COSHH Assessments, developed to reduce the likelihood of harm to people, property and the environment to as low a level as is reasonably practicable.
2. Contribute to the progressive improvement of all documented controls and processes.
3. Actively participate in the investigation and the identification of corrective and preventive actions and the root cause analysis with regard to all incidents and near misses.
Purchasing:
Work alongside and advise immediate supervisor and/or purchasing department to ensure sufficient plant, equipment and materials are purchased to provide the necessary resources to achieve customer requirements.
Minimum Qualification and Education Requirements:
Time served or a minimum 2 year’s technical training at machining/welding college or similar educational establishment.
Knowledge/Skills:
* 3 years minimum in a workshop environment.
* 3 years minimum with mechanical engineering/machining background – Certified in Mechanical Engineering.
Critical Competencies:
* Safety Awareness.
* Risk & COSHH Awareness.
* CNC Programming, Machine Setting/Operator of (lathes & milling machines).
* Reading technical drawings and technical work instructions.
Location: Forfar (Scotland)
Salary: £18 per hour
