Reporting to the Lead Consultant (Maintenance Operations) - these are Technician roles in the Maintenance unit within Roads and Transportation Service. The main purpose of the role is: Investigating and responding to enquiries, complaints regarding service delivery. Liaising with others including suppliers, Public Utility providers and other teams as necessary. Design, estimate and prepare documentation for routine and minor maintenance works. Assist in budget monitors and performance for maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation. Contribute to an effective front line response / emergency service. Supervise the activities of contractors or subcontractors. Produce reports and other documentation a required. Adhere to all Council policies and procedures. The role is customer focused and plays a key role in the effective response to Winter, Roads and Lighting emergencies. A link to the role profile is included at the bottom of the advert. The Person You should have a minimum qualification of 4 standard grades or equivalent including Maths and English at level 3 or above or moderate work experience in a relevant subject. You should possess good communication skills and be able to transfer these in a different circumstances e.g. dealing with members of the public. You should be a good team player as well as being able to work alone and unsupervised at times. You should have the ability to adapt to differing priorities at short notice. You should be familiar with Civil Engineering and / or Roads and Lighting Maintenance documentation.
