Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Pay Rate: £90.15 - £99.65 per day
Location: Kitts Green
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Smart Education is currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students aged 5 to 19 years with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Job Requirements:
A valid Child or Child and Adult Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
Minimum 6 months experience in a school or similar SEN setting
Experience working with children or young people with ASD, MLD, and SEMH needs
Ability to provide tailored support to meet the individual needs of students
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting diverse learning styles
Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff
Your Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualised support to students with ASD, MLD, and SEMH. You will assist in creating an engaging and positive learning environment, help with personal care when required, and manage challenging behaviours with a calm and supportive approach. Your role will focus on fostering both academic and social development for students, enabling them to thrive and become more independent.
