Our North Yorkshire School is a very small secondary provision for pupils with special needs, many of whom will live in our own children’s homes. We are looking for someone with a track record in the sector who is able to think outside the box to create engaging learning pathways for children. The Role, Our Head Teacher will oversee the operational running of the school and be responsible for implementing and embedding the future strategy for Pebbles Education across the school. You will liaise closely with the Senior Management team to achieve a positive learning culture that motivates your team and the pupils while underpinning our core values. You must have an excellent understanding of educational regulations and a confident approach to ensuring that our school is fully compliant and safe. Essential qualities that we look for, Educated to degree level with a postgraduate degree in Education Extensive experience of teaching and assessing pupils with Special Educational Needs Experience of leadership and management in special schools A valid, current UK driving licence It is highly beneficial if you have knowledge of theoretical approaches to Adverse Childhood experiences, mental health, attachment and therapeutic parenting An adaptable and creative approach to managing teams and making decisions A professional, confident and resilient attitude towards handling sensitive information and challenging situations Excellent communication skills.
