Overview:
The DIT will occupy a critical leadership role within Ultima. Responsible for our overall internal IT infrastructure, anchored by Dynamics 365 and an optimised suite of digital tools. This leader will be a driving force behind digital adoption, process automation and instilling a data first mindset across the organisation.
As a provider of IT solutions and support to our clients, it is essential that Ultima lead by example in our own digital transformation. Success in this role will be defined by the DIT’s ability to create an agile, efficient IT environment that scales with the company’s growth while maintaining a strong foundation of security, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Strategic IT Leadership: Develop and execute an IT strategy that aligns with Ultima’s growth objectives, focusing on scalability, cost-efficiency, and long-term value creation.
2. Digital Transformation & Process Automation: Lead the adoption of Dynamics 365 and other digital solutions to enhance productivity, streamline operations, and drive automation and the effective adoption of AI across the organisation.
3. Data Governance & Analytics: Establish a comprehensive data governance framework and oversee data management practices, enabling a data-first culture with access to accurate, robust and timely information across the business.
4. Technology Adoption and Change Management: Drive the successful adoption of and transition to new tools and processes, fostering a user-centred approach to technology, supporting Ultima’s teams with the tools, training, and resources needed to achieve operational efficiency and innovation.
5. Acquisition Integration: Oversee the seamless integration of IT systems, data, and infrastructure in potential acquisitions, ensuring swift and efficient alignment with Ultima’s existing technology environment to maximise value and minimise operational disruption.
6. Operational Excellence & Cost Management: Implement processes and performance metrics to monitor, evaluate, and optimise IT expenditures while ensuring service quality and responsiveness across the organisation.
7. Manage and prioritise internal business cases for systems, improvements and automations.
8. Ensuring sufficient resource to meet business demands for the various teams in the division.

10. Global IT Infrastructure Management: Ensure a robust, secure, and resilient IT infrastructure that supports all offices.
11. Cybersecurity & Compliance: Manage cybersecurity programs and compliance frameworks to safeguard information assets and ensure adherence to both UK and international regulatory standards.
12. Vendor & Partner Relations: Oversee vendor relationships related to IT infrastructure and support, in coordination with the Commercial Director to align strategic partnerships and ensure optimal use of resources.
Requirements:
1. Strong intellect, coupled with a curious mindset and ability to think from first principles.
2. Exceptional communicator who is generous in their thinking and able to translate technical concepts and ideas to non-technical colleagues. Adept at managing change.
3. Proven ability to design, implement, and continuously adapt an IT strategy that aligns with both immediate operational needs and long-term business growth objectives.
4. Demonstrable ability to optimise cost and efficiency both with the IT teams and across the wider business, with a clear focus on ROI.
5. Track record of developing a data-led environment, creating and governing systems for data integrity, accessibility, and actionable insights that inform key decisions.
6. Experience in driving digital adoption and process automation, with a focus on tools like Dynamics 365 to enhance workflow efficiency and organisational agility.
7. Leadership skills that create a consistently high performing team by building talent density and fostering autonomy and accountability.
8. Knowledge of key compliance and governance requirements.
