A growing national carbon neutral business that has won a range of awards is expanding and, owing to an internal promotion, is now hiring a Health and Safety Advisor.
This role will suit an individual with some existing experience in Health and Safety or someone with strong transferable skills who has a genuine passion to make a difference in this crucial function.
You will need great communication skills for dealing with various issues face to face on sites in and around the North West. Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a good grasp of IT systems are essential. A clean driving license is required, and you should be comfortable in a role where you will be on site at head office 2-3 days a week and the rest of the week out on client sites advising on all Health and Safety matters while supporting the Health and Safety manager and the wider environmental compliance team. You will receive first-class industry training and be given the opportunity to undertake study to NEBOSH levels.
Your day will involve conducting internal audits, controlling contractors (ensuring they have the right equipment, etc.), ISO audits, procedural and investigation elements, and all administrative duties. Ideally, you will have some health and safety experience or some waste industry experience. The salary ranges from £25,000 to £35,000, plus either a £5,500 car allowance or a company car, along with additional benefits. This position offers excellent development, training, and the opportunity to gain full H&S qualifications, as evidenced by the fact that the role is due to an internal promotion for someone who had no previous H&S experience.
