Teams provide IT and communications support to static units and forward deployed personnel, delivering operationally crucial services over a wide geographical area. The position of the Crypto Accountant is a Developed Vetting post (DV) and will require a vetting procedure and a Sensitive Post Check (SPC) to be conducted prior to any offer of employment. The Crypto Accountant will be working part of the Operations Team and is responsible to the Custodian Officer for the whole life accounting for all deployed and static Cryptographic material held on account, ensuring the safe handling and the distribution/disposal of these items are recorded and controlled appropriately. Person specification As a Crypto Accountant, You Will Maintain actual custody, handling, safeguarding and destruction of all cryptographic material received from any issuing authority. Maintain the cryptographic ledger of items received and all issues made by the department. Maintain day to day account of the cryptographic items and being able to react to time-based requirements. Assist scheduled cryptographic changes as advised. Submit periodic returns to the Cryptographic Distribution Agency (CDA) when requested. Complete quarterly and 100% musters of all items on account and sub accounts. Conduct weekly check of all stored material. Maintaining a filing system for cryptographic correspondence as required by the custodian. Registering classified correspondence in the designated MOD Form 102 or appropriate Database. Keeping the access list, emergency destruction and evacuation/fire plans up to date. Controlling access to the store and office. Preparation and dispatch of cryptographic material by courier. Conduct resupply as advised by the custodian officer. Actively seek to improve working practices. Complete all HR activities to include goal setting all mandatory training required for the grade. Any additional tasks commensurate to skill-set and grade. Mandatory requirements to be completed within the first 12 months. Complete a Crypto accountants course - Essential.
