Your responsibilities include:
* Leading and coordinating the engineering team
* Ensuring that engineering work is performed at the highest standards in accordance with the company’s Quality Assurance and HSE procedures
* Testing, calibrating, and ensuring sufficient spares for Geophysical Engineering equipment
* Acquiring Geophysical data in compliance with good survey practice and completing logs according to company policy
* Developing and operating appropriate engineering and administrative processes to support the Geophysical Department
* Proficient use, maintenance, deployment, and mobilization of all Gardline Geophysical equipment
* Monitoring and quality controlling data records accurately and timely
* Attending all toolbox meetings unless otherwise directed
Your qualities
You can make your mark as a geophysical engineer in charge if you have:
* Experience in relevant engineering disciplines (e.g., Electronic, Hydraulic, Mechanical, Electrical, Data communications, IT infrastructure)
* Broad knowledge of Geophysical and Seismic operations
* Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
* Ability to develop constructive relationships with a wide range of people
* Team spirit and a ‘can-do’ attitude
* Problem-solving skills using initiative and creativity
* Dedicated work ethic
* Fluency in spoken and written English, including technical language
* High level of IT skills (e.g., Microsoft Office)
* Ability to pass ENG-1 and STCW-95 (or recognized equivalent)
* Ability to coach and mentor others

Make your mark as offshore geophysical engineer in charge at Gardline!
The geophysical engineer in charge is responsible for leading the safe operation and acquisition of geophysical survey equipment and data. You will provide a proactive and comprehensive service to support the needs of the geophysical engineering department, both onboard company vessels and at Company HQ.
This is a seagoing role, with an expectation of completing around 180-200 days offshore per year. Previous experience operating at this level and in a similar environment would be advantageous.
The start date for this role is January 2025. A comprehensive induction training program will take place in our Great Yarmouth offices based in the United Kingdom.
