The Role We are currently wanting to expand our Repairs and Maintenance Team. The Repairs and Maintenance Department has the responsibility for carrying out responsive and planned maintenance works, and void management works to Lancaster City Council’s housing and non-housing stock. In order to improve service levels, meet performance targets and increase the working base, the section is recruiting an Electrician. The post holder must have: City & Guilds Electrical Installations or equivalent Level 3 NVQ City & Guilds 2365 parts 1&2 or equivalent Level 3 Technical Certificate including the national Electrotechnical Training (NET) AM2 Certificate Up to date City & Guilds 2382 – b.s. 7671 IET Wiring regulation certificate - 18th edition This post is permanent, based at White Lund Depot. The post hours are 37 hours per week (Monday to Thursday, 8.00am to 4.30pm, and Friday, 8.00am to 3.30pm), however you are required for operational purposes to work 39 hours per week. As this is in excess of the standard 37-hour week, you will accrue 1 day’s leave for every 20 days worked. You may be required to undertake Standby duties to cover out of hours work. The successful applicant will be subject to a basic clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service. A full current UK driving licence is essential, as the post holder will be required to work a transient role around the district, as they will have to travel between locations and travel within the Council’s designated area. As a result you will be required to sign up to the authorised external DVLA driving licence validation organisation that we use to manage and monitor our employees driving licence data.
