The purpose of this post is to provide the post holder with training to develop skills in configuration, administration and support of the Council’s ICT infrastructure, applications and services. The post holder will work towards a Modern Apprenticeship (IT and Telecommunications) at SCQF Level 5 or Level 6.
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
Three Standard Grades at Level 3 or above with Computing desirable, or
Relevant work experience
The postholder is able to demonstrate:
Skills and experience in:
1. Good customer service
2. Working as a self-motivated team player
3. Following instructions and written processes
An understanding of:
4. Microsoft Windows 10/11
5. Microsoft (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
6. Android and/or Apple smartphones
And a commitment to:
7. Completing the Modern Apprenticeship.
8. Maintaining the highest standards of IT security and data protection.
9. Paying close attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
10. Using initiative, being flexible and self-motivated, and showing a positive attitude.
11. Sharing technical information pertinent to the service.
12. Identifying recurring problems and trends and notifying managers accordingly.
13. Managing own tasks across various workflows; prioritising appropriately.
14. Keeping abreast of emerging technologies, embracing innovation and change.
15. Developing the skills, knowledge and behaviours set out in the Council’s Capability Framework, shaped by the organisation’s Guiding Principles.
