Birchwell Associates is excited to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading IT services provider based in Leeds. We are looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer (2nd/3rd Line) to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, supporting a wide range of IT infrastructure and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support to clients and internal teams.
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
* Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Office 365.
* Support network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
* Work with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
* Assist in IT projects, including migrations, system upgrades, and implementations.
* Provide proactive monitoring and maintenance to prevent technical issues.
* Document solutions and processes, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in a 2nd/3rd line IT support role.
* Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
* Experience supporting Office 365, Exchange, and cloud-based solutions.
* Solid understanding of networking concepts, including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewalls.
* Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
* Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure.
* Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
Desirable Skills:
* Certifications such as Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE), Cisco (CCNA), or ITIL.
* Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
* Knowledge of scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash).
* Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
