About the Role As a Server and Storage Engineer, you will play a key role within the Infrastructure team, contributing to the design, development, and implementation of a comprehensive server, storage, and client technology strategy. This strategy will align with the overarching priorities of the organization and its affiliated services. Working alongside a team of technology specialists, you will help deliver a secure, resilient, and modern service that enhances the operational effectiveness of frontline workers. Your efforts will support essential public services by providing reliable tools and technical support that maximize efficiency in critical operations. You will operate within the defined scope of server, storage, and client technology services, ensuring compliance with key performance indicators, policies, and procedures. This may involve fieldwork and out-of-hours commitments. Additionally, you will contribute to project work and other commissioned tasks as directed by leadership. As part of the team, you will foster a positive and inclusive culture, promoting a unified ICT service that is focused on delivering seamless and high-quality support to end users. You will have experience in delivering and supporting implementation projects. You will have a background in working with enterprise-class server and client architectures within a medium to large-scale environment, ideally within the public sector or emergency services. You will possess strong communication skills, allowing you to adapt your approach to a diverse range of stakeholders, including: Internal service users across the organization Members and staff of partner agencies and national ICT networks Suppliers and contractors Members of the public Experience in the public sector, particularly in procurement, is desirable, with a preference for experience in emergency services such as policing or fire and rescue. You will hold, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience at, a relevant technical level, such as: MCSA in Server 2012 or later CompTIA A CompTIA Security ITIL Foundation Certificate in Service Management Desirable Qualifications Certified storage specialist with experience in Dell, HP, or EMC technologies Proficiency in VMware virtual environments and vSAN storage solutions Experience working with Linux operating systems Knowledge of Exchange 365, Azure, Intune, Virtual Desktops, Microsoft Teams, and Skype for Business, with relevant Microsoft certifications Expertise in Microsoft SCCM Understanding of Microsoft Enterprise Agreements Experience with cloud computing and virtual network management Familiarity with both thick and thin client technologies
