Principle Objective:
We are seeking a Senior Fine Art Technician to join our specialist team in international fine arts logistics to provide secure transportation, storage, installation and de-installation services for the world’s museums, art galleries, auction houses and private collectors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure that materials and equipment in the trucks are sufficient for the business requirements.
2. Drive to destination and lead a team on the project.
3. Service client’s requirements by making sure that your colleagues always deliver a high-quality service.
4. Facilitate good communication between the client and the Crown Co Ordinator.
5. Foster, encourage good behaviour and professionalism with the team.
6. Ensure the loading, securing, unloading, paperwork and processing of the artworks into the warehouse/client’s property/vehicle is done correctly.
7. Oversee the art install projects, ensuring RAMS are followed. Start, cooperate and deliver the project to completion.
8. Conduct hand searches or screenings, drive secure known cargo to the airport, liaise with the cargo sheds – operators – and carry out airside loading/unloading and supervision.
9. Chaperone couriers and their consignments.
10. Produce your own Risk Assessments and Method Statements when necessary.
11. Wear PPE and ensure the team wears PPE – Be fully H&S aware and compliant.
12. Mentor any new member of staff as directed by the Operations team.
13. Art handling, including packing, unpacking and installation, all to an Excellent Crown Standard.
14. Complete all necessary paperwork in full in accordance with specific jobs, including consignment notes and timesheets.
15. Support the Operations team with clear instructions and indications of what is required on any job.
Skills/Experience:
1. High level of professionalism and customer service.
2. Knowledge of transporting high value items is essential.
3. AVSEC awareness to COS level is an advantage.
4. Forklift license is an advantage.
5. 3.5t driving license and experience is required.
6. HGV 2 qualification is an advantage.
7. 5 years’ experience in art handling/warehouse/packing/driving.
8. Must be flexible with early starts and late finishes as reasonably requested by the Operations Manager; overtime payment available.
9. First aid certificate.
10. PASMA trained.
11. IPAF trained.
12. Fire Marshall trained.
