Your Role: We are currently seeking a permanent Mechanical Engineer for the BioProcessing Research and Development Product Design group within MilliporeSigma Process Solutions business unit. As a part of the R&D organization, the successful candidate will design new novel products used in the processing and purification of pharmaceutical and biotech product streams. This position will be based at out Bedford, MA campus. In this dynamic environment, the candidate will participate in new product development teams. The candidate will act as a contributing member within a technical team to act as the primary design resource and help the team to develop and validate single use products and related manufacturing processes. Ultimately your support will allow for successful transfer of a robust product and process into manufacturing. The candidate must have the ability to innovate using creativity, good engineering design fundamentals, have self-driven curiosity, and an entrepreneurial spirit to always seek out best in class solutions. Who You Are: Minimum Qualifications: MS in Mechanical Engineering 3 years of experience with CAD software packages/techniques Preferred Qualifications: CAD experience using PTC Creo or SolidWorks Experience with product design Experience with thermoplastics Experience in design of components, mechanisms and systems Proficient in engineering, problem solving, experimental design and data analysis Knowledge of manufacturing and process development activities; design of experiments, FMEA, DFM, qualification, and validation Experience in a related field (Plastics or Biomedical Engineering and or Medical Device design) Must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and can interact effectively with people in all areas of the company including R&D, plant operations, quality, purchasing, and product management.
