Job Title
A Press Tool Design Engineer is required to join our expanding team at CEMBRE Ltd.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing press tool and fixture designs, and implementing improvements to manufacturing and assembly processes.
Responsibilities
* Design single, multi-stage and progression press tooling.
* Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers.
* Analyze and implement improvements to existing press tooling or components.
* Create design solutions, including CAD models, detailed drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, and related documentation.
* Draft dimension and geometrically tolerant part drawings to BS 8888 standards.
* Perform essential material stress-strain analysis calculations and DFMEA/PFMEA analysis.
* Plan effectively to ensure projects are delivered on time, to standard, and to budget.
* Evaluate manufacturing processes, research, and develop solutions to increase efficiency, reduce downtime, waste, and scrap.
* Ensure consistent repeatable processes and product quality.
* Provide manufacturing support and information for all processes.
* Generate and maintain product and process data and training.
* Work and coordinate with members of the Design & Technical team.
Requirements
* At least 4+ years of experience in a Design Engineer role with press tooling experience.
* Degree/HND/HNC in a related field (Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering).
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products.
* SAP/ERP experience.
* Experience with 3D CAD (CREO Parametric preferred).
* Experience with press tooling or jig and fixture design.
* Knowledge of metal manufacturing processes.
* Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
