Locum Consultant Medical Oncologist (Lung and Kidney Cancer)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Trust as a locum Consultant Medical Oncologist covering lung and kidney cancers. This is a new post due to the merger of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This post will be for a period of 12 months in the first instance with a view to a subsequent substantive appointment.
Main Duties of the Job
The post-holder will work alongside medical and clinical oncology colleagues at the Royal Free and North Middlesex hospitals and will be essential for service provision as well as the development of the lung and kidney cancer pathways, contributing to the immunotherapy MDT.
The successful candidate should have experience of working within a multidisciplinary team; have a wide experience in Medical Oncology, particularly in lung and kidney cancer management and acute oncology.

There are infusion suites to treat cancer patients at the Royal Free, Finchley Memorial, North Middlesex, and Chase Farm Hospitals, while radiotherapy is delivered at the Royal Free and North Middlesex Hospitals.
The Royal Free London is a tertiary referral centre for kidney cancer. Alongside a late phase clinical trials portfolio, we have recently opened a Clinical Research Facility for oncology early phase trials focusing on kidney cancer. The Royal Free London has one of the largest lung cancer oncology practices in the NHS. The 2020 National Audit of Lung Cancer showed that the Trust performed higher or equal to national results on all six indicators (100%).

Education and Professional Qualifications
* Possession of MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
* Membership of the Royal College of Physicians
* Accreditation by the RCP or be within 6 months of obtaining CCT (or equivalent) at time of interview
Experience

* Experience of Lung and Renal Oncology
* Experience and an interest in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
