As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work

* Workshop-based activities including motor and winder repairs
* Condition-based monitoring on equipment
* Programming control systems including PLC, SCADA & DCS

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training plan
The first 12 months of the programme will be spent attending Gloucestershire Engineering Training College (GET) on a full-time basis to achieve a broad-based engineering introduction, NVQ at Level 2 and Technical Certificate Year 1.
In the subsequent 3 years the apprentices will have on site training at the INVISTA Gloucester site working alongside INVISTA’s skilled Technicians and Engineers with one day per week spent at GET. The apprentice will work towards and achieve a NVQ level 3 in Mechatronics Maintenance and Technical Certificate (in Year 2).
There is also the potential for the apprentices to complete a Higher National Certificate in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Other requirements
This programme is a great opportunity, however it will require a lot of hard work and dedication. Learners will be expected to work 2 or 3 qualifications at the same time and also contribute towards the maintenance team from the second year onwards.
