Due to an increase in workload they are now seeking a senior geotechnical engineer for the north Yorkshire office.
Responsibilities
Be an ambassador for our clients market; promote our interests and reputation
Play an active role in your safety and the safety of others around you
Be prepared to manage small to medium sized projects with a degree of technical complexity
Be prepared to travel for project related work when required. This could be working from other
offices within the UK or abroad for defined periods of time; or on client sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
* A degree in civil engineering
* Chartered membership of a professional body or working towards chartership
* At least 10 years of design experience in the geotechnical engineering field
Preferred skills
Enthusiasm and a keen interest in continually
developing your geotechnical consultancy skills.
Apply detailed theoretical knowledge of geotechnical engineering and project management principles
Proficient in the use of spreadsheets and FREW, SLIDE, Settle 3D, Plaxis or similar industry
standard software.
Working knowledge of Eurocode 7 and UK annex design codes, ground investigation and construction
contracts and specifications
An understanding of the operating model of a specialist consulting business
An understanding of how innovative and practical solutions create client value – can contribute to
new or original techniques in the design
An ability in a client facing role promoting technical capabilities and service offerings to
clients
An ability to identify and convert new business opportunities with existing and new clients
Presents appropriate information in a clear and concise manner both orally and in writing
Good interpersonal skills and a strong team focus
Contribute to the design and analysis of complex geotechnical structures, including foundations, slopes, and retaining walls• Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals to deliver innovative solutions for a wide range of clients• Enjoy the opportunity to work on prestigious projects, such as HS2, temporary works design and Network Rail
Preferred Requirements:
* Proficiency in planning, supervising, and interpreting ground and groundwater investigations to address geotechnical issues and gather appropriate data
* Demonstrated experience in designing embedded retaining walls, pad and piled foundations, and other geotechnical elements
* Expertise in using industry-standard software, such as FREW, SLIDE, Settle 3D, and Plaxis, to support your design work
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with clients and project team members
* Ability to project manage small to medium-sized projects and coordinate the work of others
