University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is a large acute Trust and Major Trauma Centre. Successful candidates will have the enviable opportunity to gain both basic Band 5 experience across all core areas as well as more specialist opportunities in the tertiary specialties that we host. We offer rotations across a wide variety of specialties, such as cardiothoracics, respiratory, intensive care, acute stroke, neurosurgery, critical care rehab, surgical, medical, care of elderly, trauma and orthopaedics, paediatrics, emergency care, out-patients, and community.
We welcome applications from Physiotherapy students who are in their final year of education.
Main Duties of the Job
1. To perform a physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions; to provide a clinical diagnosis, develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme, under the supervision of a senior Physiotherapist.
2. To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner and ensure competence is gained and retained in all areas in which you practice.
3. Band 5's rotate every six months and the post includes participation with our weekend, late and on-call respiratory service and seven-day working rotas.

Knowledge & Experience Essential
* Broad range of clinical placements including demonstrable experience in MSK (Orthopaedic & Outpatient) / Acute respiratory care / Neuro.
* Demonstrable experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Proven evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
* Development & values-based learning.
* Proven awareness of current NHS and Health issues influencing the role.
Qualifications Essential
* Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy
* HCPC registration
* Demonstrate maintenance of professional development.
Aptitude and Abilities Essential
* Professional manner
* Demonstrates effective and adaptable communication skills.
