About The Role Job Title: Security Supervisor Retail Location: Belfast City Centre Job Type: Full-time About the Role: Were looking for a proactive, responsible, and experienced Security Supervisor to join our retail team. In this role, you'll lead the security team, keeping both customers and staff safe while ensuring a smooth shopping experience. Youll be key in preventing theft, managing safety risks, and handling security issues as they come up. What Youll Do: Lead the Security Team: Manage and motivate the security team to make sure theyre following all safety and security rules. Monitor Surveillance: Oversee CCTV monitoring, keeping an eye on potential threats or unusual activities in the store. Prevent Loss: Work with the team to reduce theft and shrinkage by enforcing store policies and doing regular security checks. Respond to Incidents: Deal with security incidents like theft, accidents, or disputes quickly and professionally, while keeping accurate records of everything that happens. Ensure Safety: Make sure all safety procedures are in place, including regular emergency drills and first-aid training for the team. Engage with Customers: Be a visible presence on the floor, ensuring a safe and positive experience for customers, and addressing their concerns when needed. Document Everything: Keep detailed reports on security events, activities, and staff performance, and share these with the management team. Work with Authorities: If needed, assist law enforcement with investigations and other security-related tasks. Help Improve Security Strategies: Come up with ideas to prevent loss and improve store security, such as audits and inventory checks. Train Your Team: Make sure your security team is up to date on best practices and trained for all possible situations. What Were Looking For: At least 2 years of experience in a security role, ideally in retail, with supervisory experience. Solid knowledge of security procedures, loss prevention, and emergency protocols. Strong leadership and team management skills. Calm under pressure and good decision-making ability. Good communication skills, both spoken and written. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel for managing documents, skilled in formatting and organising documents in Word, and experienced in using Excel for data analysis, creating spreadsheets, and applying formulas to track tasks efficiently. Familiarity with surveillance equipment, alarm systems, and security technologies. The ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. Physically fit and able to stand, walk, and patrol for long periods. High standards of personal presentation Must hold a current front line SIA license.
