Job Title: Senior Test Support Engineer
Location: Northampton
Pay Range/details: Up to £65,000 per annum

Omega are currently supporting a world-renowned automotive company in their search for a Senior Test Support Engineer. As a Senior Test Support Engineer, you will be working within the Test House to provide a mixture of day-to-day, hands-on testing support.
Key Responsibilities - Senior Test Support Engineer
1. Take engine test requirements and deliver suitable engineering solutions, on time, to achieve those.
2. Cover both investigation and resolution of day-to-day faults with the test equipment and select, install, set up, and calibrate a range of pressure, temperature, torque, flow & humidity transducers on new installations and additional requests.
3. Program the logging system with automated test routines and logging, alarms, PID control, etc.
4. Root cause fault finding and the subsequent resolving of electrical, software, and mechanical testbed/rig issues.
5. Specify, cost, plan, and deliver one or more planned upgrades to the test facility.
6. Assess and secure sub-contractor services for the current equipment and manage their delivery.
7. Work to improve departmental resources and capability by maintaining records and writing and implementing procedures.
8. Issue clear and timely progress/status updates to management.
Qualifications & Requirements - Senior Test Support Engineer
1. Extensive experience of supporting automotive (or similar) powertrain and rig/component testing.
2. Good understanding of internal combustion engines and engine test methodology.
3. Capable of programming control loops, PID controllers, automated test routines, etc.
4. Specification and delivery of small and larger scale test facility upgrades.
5. Experience of working with sub-contractors.
6. Writing of specifications, procedures, and documentation of work carried out.
7. Programming experience (C or Visual Basic).
8. Electronic and electrical circuit design knowledge.
