About the Blavatnik School of Government
Our vision is of a world better led, a world better served and a world better governed. We are a global school committed to improving the quality of government and public policymaking worldwide, through three routes: teaching current and future leaders; generating research with impact; and engaging with governments and practitioners.
What we offer
The School is a collaborative, friendly, and dynamic department of Oxford University, based in an award-winning building. We host regular events and talks with well-known guest speakers – all of which are open to staff. On the social side, we have regular coffee/cake mornings for staff, a family-friendly Halloween event, and Christmas and summer parties. We genuinely care about our employees’ wellbeing and this is reflected in the range of benefits that we offer including:
1. An excellent contributory pension scheme
2. 38 days’ annual leave
3. Family leave schemes and a comprehensive range of childcare services
4. Cycle loan scheme and discounted bus travel and Season Ticket travel loans
5. Membership to a variety of social and sports clubs
About the role
This is an exceptional opportunity to be the communications lead for a new Oxford University research project that will generate evidence on the impact of climate change on children’s health and development, and help communities adapt. You will communicate the project’s mission and findings to a range of audiences. This will involve establishing and running a website, creating and disseminating content, and coordinating closely with partners and other relevant bodies, as well as offering a range of hands-on support as part of a tight project team. This post is fixed term until 29 February 2028 and offered on a part-time basis (30 hours per week / 80% FTE).
About you
You will have outstanding written communication skills, with a concise, compelling style, strong written accuracy, and an ability to closely tailor your writing to the audience, eliminating jargon and acronyms. Experience of working with academic researchers would be desirable.
