The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating for projects valued between £500,000 and £5 million +, with experience in residential, industrial, or commercial sectors. You will play a critical role in the bidding process, ensuring accurate project cost assessments that support our business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
* Analyze project plans and specifications to identify key components and potential risks.
* Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimates.
* Utilize estimating software and tools to create comprehensive reports and presentations.
* Review and analyze vendor quotes and pricing to ensure cost-effectiveness.
* Maintain and update a database of unit costs and historical project data.
* Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and submissions to clients.
* Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project requirements.
* Monitor market trends and pricing to inform estimating practices.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
* Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, with a focus on projects between £500k and £5 million +.
* Familiarity with residential, industrial, or commercial construction practices.
* Proficiency in estimating software
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
