A fantastic and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Care Assistant to become part of our team at Inglewood Nursing Home in Eastbourne, East Sussex. You will provide the highest possible standards of care and service to all residents, in addition to carrying out a supervisory role. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be in charge of a shift and will take responsibility for the smooth running of services whilst on duty. You will administer prescribed drugs in accordance with NMC Guidelines and Company Policy and Procedure. You will respond to emergencies and provide guidance and support to Care Assistants under the supervision of qualified Nursing Staff. This is a full time day shift position, working 3 days per week from 8.00am to 8.00pm, including rotational weekends. Key Duties will include: Resident Care Contribute to the updating, development and review of care plans, ensuring involvement of residents / representatives at all times. To administer drugs and treatments as prescribed in accordance with NMC guidelines and Company Policy and Procedure. Carry out regular checks on residents and the environment, working with the Clinical Care Coordinator and Management Team where applicable, to ensure standards are maintained. Management Act as a role model to all Care Assistants. Organise the care staff for the shift, delegate care based on your knowledge of the residents and staff levels and abilities. Supervise care delivery and report any concerns to the RGN in charge. Assist with staffing rotas and shift coverage as required. General Adhere to the GSCC Code of Conduct. Be aware of the CQC Fundamental Standards. Take every opportunity to improve your skills and knowledge both by self-development. Assist the development of the company’s philosophy of person-centred care and strive to achieve associated goals. The successful candidate will have an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, a Medication Administration qualification and have a minimum of 2-3 years experience in a similar role.
