Contract: Perm & Full Time Closing Date: 13th December, 2024 Location: Nottingham Support Office Recruitment Partner: Jim Trussler About the role Boots Opticians 3 year plan and business strategy sees significant ownership changes of our Franchise & Core stores driven by contract renewals and our strategic growth of Franchise. This commercially critical new role will deliver c100 portfolio (store) ownership changes in both Franchise & Core stores, and new store openings. It will also be accountable for the acquisition of talent to purchase these businesses, guided through internal talent, the Franchise Academy and multi owners. You will lead the Academy programme supported by L&D and be accountable for the financial, legal, contractual and commercial process and adherence throughout the transactions. Reports to the Retail Director. Key Responsibilities: Deliver Company goals on profit by taking a critical role in translating the Portfolio and Franchise strategy into tangible plans, investment and actions. Deliver the Franchise portfolio change plan. Create and deliver Franchise recruitment, succession & development plan that enables the business to achieve its potential Own the Franchise Academy programme, its development, and the talent pipeline output. Accountable for the writing and delivery of Franchise Induction plan Partner with Senior Property Manager & Franchise Regional Managers to enact the portfolio strategy. Work with senior partners within each function in Boots Opticians Recruit, manage, develop and coach franchise partners to maximise business performance and profit. Be accountable for external and internal networks that facilitate the sourcing and recruitment of excellent business leaders. Develop a pipeline of talent specifically from the owned store estate by building excellent relationships in the field teams What you’ll need to have Significant understanding of Franchise contracts, processes, commercial and estate contracts and processes. Significant exposure to Franchise, JV and Company owned business models especially in Opticians Ability to lead transformational change within a cross-functional team Commercially astute; Significant financial understanding of Finance, P&L, cash-flow, business development, ROI and business management Experience of analysing and providing solutions at pace, and challenge the business where required. Comfortable in negotiations and financial contracts Ability to balance autonomy with being highly accountable and resilient Build relationships and influence internally and externally.
