We are looking to recruit a Band 4 Team Leader for Medical Secretaries/Clinic Co-ordinators. This is a permanent role working 28 hours per week. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated individual to provide effective and efficient coordination and staff management for the Unity Sexual Health service based at Central Health Clinic, Tower Hill, Bristol.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have a range of coordinating, administrative and staff management experience, ideally in a hospital environment, though other administration/PA experience will be considered. Working in a busy environment within a supportive team, we are seeking an individual who is able to demonstrate good leadership and team player qualities. You will need to manage and prioritise both your own and your team's workload appropriately.
You will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well under pressure and use your own initiative as required. This post has contact with patients and healthcare professionals via telephone and Teams, so applicants must have excellent communication skills with a courteous and efficient telephone manner. We are seeking a candidate with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Knowledge and Experience
* Clerical / Administrative / Secretarial experience
* Previous supervisory / managerial experience
* Experience of dealing with the public, both on the telephone and in person
* Knowledge of NHS policies and/or procedures
* Previous minute taking experience
* Previous NHS Experience
* Experience of managing medics' annual and study leave using IT systems
Skills and Abilities
* Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of accuracy
* Effective and polite manner when dealing with people, both face to face and on the phone
* Ability to work effectively in a busy team, adjust to change and motivate others
* Ability to work independently, managing own workload whilst providing supervision and support to others
* Confidence to handle difficult conversations with patients, relatives and carers

Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE, grade C or above (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths
* Business and Administration Level 3 NVQ or equivalent experience
* Qualified in word processing or audio typing (or equivalent)
