Main duties of the job
An opportunity has arisen within the Business Intelligence Team for a Senior Information Analyst supporting Whipps Cross Hospital. To succeed in this exciting role you will need a real eye for detail, an analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to liaise with our stakeholders. You will have experience in carrying out analysis and report writing, and a proven track record of using SQL for data extraction and interrogation purposes.
Experience of working with NHS data is highly desirable but exceptional candidates without previous NHS experience will be considered. The post-holder will be expected to contribute to the development of a performance-focused culture where safety, effectiveness, and patient experience are consistently delivered through the provision of high-quality information, analytical interpretation, benchmarking, and intelligent modelling.

Person Specification
Experience
* A minimum of three years' experience working within a Healthcare Informatics environment.
* Experience of NHS acute Trust computer/information systems (Data warehouse, PAS).
* Experience of activity modelling, waiting list profiling, and capacity planning.
* Detailed knowledge of the NHS data dictionary and its application.
* Ability to write detailed analytic queries in SQL, investigate and resolve complex queries, issues, and problems.
* Experience in acute RTT/A&E/Cancer/Diagnostics Reporting.
* Experience in the use of Business Intelligence tools for reporting, e.g. QlikView/Sense, Power BI, Business Objects, SSRS, etc.
* Knowledge of and ability to utilise statistical reporting solutions such as R and SPSS.
* Advanced level knowledge of MS Office, to include MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Skills
* Excellent presentation skills.
* Excellent report and paper writing skills.
* Able to communicate complex issues at a level appropriate to the audience from ward to board.
Qualifications
* Educated to at least degree level or equivalent experience.
