Responsible to: Academy Lead Sport Scientist
Build Relationships with:
Internal: Academy Manager, Head of Coaching, lead Phase Coaches, Coaches (Part Time), Heads of department, Player Care Manager, and Players.
External: Premier League clubs, Football League clubs, FA, Universities/Colleges, FAYCD, and PFA.
Sessional rate of pay: in line with national living wage
Location: Cheltenham Town FC Training Ground, Cheltenham, GL51 9RX
Working Pattern and Work Base:
* Casual Worker Contract
* Flexible working arrangements/hours
* Required to work outside of normal office hours, in the evenings and weekends, on bank holidays and public holidays.
* Required to work across different bases
Travel: Regular travel to fixtures, meetings, and other events in connection with performance of the duties detailed below.
Overall Purpose of the Job: Provide gym delivery in line with the needs/wants of the Academy Lead Sport Scientist and program.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
Personal Growth:
* Undertake self-development to ensure knowledge in relation to all aspects of your role is up-to-date and forward-thinking.
* Build relationships throughout the Academy and broader.
Other:
* Support the delivery of pre-games/training warm-ups & activations.
* Support delivery of pre-programmed sessions.
* Maintain Health & Safety protocols.
* Participate in self-reflective practice & disciplinary meetings.
* Such other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post and to assist the Academy Manager/Academy Lead Sport Scientist.
Qualifications:
Completed a degree in Sports Science or similar, or hold a relevant strength and conditioning qualification (Level 3 and above).
Required Experience:
Experience of working in at least 1 of the following roles:
* Sport Science
* Strength & Conditioning
* On a MSc course
* On a UKSCA or equivalent course
Knowledge and/or experience of at least 1 of the following:
* Physical development
* Strength & Conditioning
* Medical
* Sport Science
* Physical Education
ICT experience of PMA, Excel, Word, and any other software as required to carry out the duties required for the job.
Personal Qualities: Work ethic, Integrity, Solutions, Enjoyment, Responsibility.
Other Requirements:
* Have a full clean driving license
* DBS clearance
Safeguarding: To have due regard for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and to follow the child protection procedures adopted by the FA and the club.
