Our Head of Operational Risk is seeking an Operational Risk Manager to act as a trusted adviser to the business, providing oversight and challenge on the risks that the Society encounters.
To provide an independent review of the organisation's risk profile from a 2LOD perspective.You will utilise your excellent analytical skills to continuously develop the Operational Risk management framework and risk appetite, taking a pragmatic approach to achieve desired outcomes and building strong stakeholder relationships across The Society.
You can expect to work closely with other teams, harnessing your interpersonal and influencing skills to lead on the effectiveness of controls and embedding governance processes to ensure robust and repeatable processes for the management of risk.
The Role:
* Conduct ongoing RCSAs: Lead and support regular Risk & Control Self-Assessments to identify, assess, and review the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management and control systems
* Monitor and support the ongoing development and maintenance of Operational Risk policies, procedures, and Risk Appetite Statements
* Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders to drive risk mitigation through comprehensive risk assessment and treatment plans
* Project Management: Play a key role in assisting projects to understand their risks and facilitate the ongoing monitoring and mitigation of these
* Reporting: Produce detailed reports on risk management across multiple areas to gather input and provide updates to senior leadership
* Presentation of Findings: Present risk assessment findings and mitigations to key stakeholders across 1LOD and 2LOD and Committees as required
* Facilitate Workshops: Organise RCSA workshops to help identify unknown operational risks
* Training and Awareness: Identify opportunities for training and enhancing awareness of operational risk methodologies
* Incident Management: You will own the risk incident process on a day-to-day basis and be responsible for updating relevant records and providing updates to the committee
* Policy ownership: You will own the policy management framework on a day-to-day basis, ensuring policy owners review and update policies to meet regulatory and risk strategy requirements in a timely manner
The Candidate:
* Educated to degree standard or equivalent industry experience
* Certificate in Operational Risk Management (or willingness to achieve this certification)
* Experience with Risk Management systems and methodologies
* Experience with Agile (and other) Project Methodologies
* Good understanding of MS Office
* Strong analytical capability
* Good interpersonal and influencing skills
* Good understanding of the UK regulatory regime
* Excellent stakeholder management
* Strong knowledge and experience working with Excel
