Tasks
* Lead the comprehensive development of next generation redox flow battery systems, pioneering innovations in cell stack design, electrolyte chemistry, and scalable system integration.
* Lead the scale-up of electrochemical processes from laboratory to pilot and commercial production
* Conduct R&D to explore new materials, electrode designs, and electrolyte formulations that enhance battery longevity and efficiency
* Develop and implement strategies to improve cell efficiency, power density, and energy density by focusing on reaction kinetics and mass transport
* Develop and implement robust testing methodologies to assess battery performance, durability, and safety.
* Research and evaluate novel electrode materials and develop/optimize manufacturing processes for electrodes, cells, and stacks.
* Implement quality control procedures to ensure consistent product performance
* Design and implement in-line testing and quality control systems
* Carrying out and documenting test procedures and actively participating in their further development
* Collaboration with battery developers and the design department in the development and implementation of our new battery system
Requirements
* Advanced degree in electrochemical engineering, Industrial chemistry/electrochemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum 5 years of industry experience in electrochemical system R&D, with a strong preference for candidates with direct experience in redox flow battery development
* Experience in process scale-up and manufacturing of electrochemical devices.
* Strong background in experimental electrochemistry, including electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), cyclic voltammetry, and charge/discharge cycling.
* Experience in fluid dynamics, mass transport, and reaction kinetics within electrochemical systems.
* Hands-on experience in fabricating and optimizing flow cells and electrochemical test setups.
* Familiarity with computational modelling and simulation tools.
* Ability to interpret complex data/reporting skills, and provide actionable recommendations.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and business teams to align R&D advancements with commercialization goals..
