This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about inclusive education and supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). About the Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be part of a skilled support team assisting pupils with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. You will work closely with teachers and SEN professionals to ensure that every student receives the support and care they deserve. Key Responsibilities: Deliver targeted one-to-one and group support tailored to pupils’ individual SEN profiles. Assist in implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and personalised learning strategies. Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment to support effective learning. Encourage student confidence, communication, and emotional resilience. Promote positive behaviour and provide de-escalation support when needed. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support student progress. Maintain accurate records of pupil achievements and areas of concern. Job Requirements: Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN is preferred. A patient, empathetic, and encouraging approach to learning and development. Understanding of SEN teaching strategies and behavioural support methods. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with pupils and staff. Ability to adapt and respond effectively to diverse and evolving needs in the classroom. A relevant qualification in childcare or SEN support is advantageous but not essential. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one). Why Join GSL Education?
