Key Responsibilities Conduct initial assessments and risk assessments to identify the needs and risks for children, families, and vulnerable individuals. Work closely with multi-agency teams, including health professionals, law enforcement, and education providers, to deliver coordinated interventions. Develop and implement care plans to safeguard and support service users effectively. Undertake Section 47 investigations where necessary, ensuring compliance with statutory guidelines and policies. Make informed decisions regarding child protection, safeguarding, and welfare in line with UK legislation. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records using electronic case management systems. Attend court proceedings and provide expert witness statements when required. Engage in supervision, training, and professional development to stay updated with best practices in risk and assessment social work. Requirements Qualified Social Worker (Degree or equivalent in Social Work). Registration with Social Work England (or equivalent governing body). Proven experience in risk assessment, safeguarding, and child protection. Strong knowledge of legislation, policies, and procedures related to social work in the UK. Ability to work under pressure, manage complex caseloads, and make sound decisions in crisis situations. Excellent communication, report writing, and analytical skills. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one). A valid UK driving licence is often preferred (depending on the role).
