The role of Training Programme Director is to work with andsupport the Head of School in leading the delivery of a wide rangeoffunctions,alignedtotheNHSEnglandmandate.
The Training Programme Director is professionally andmanagerially accountable to the Head of School. You will focus upon improvement of learnersupervision, assessment and experience, engagement of facultyandensuringeffectiveeducationaloutcomes,bothnowandinthefuture. The role is evolving and will also focus on whole workforcetransformationanddevelopingmulti-professionallinks.
To support the Postgraduate Dean, youwill work across the spectrum of health and, whererelevant, social care within the context of a team, so that theprovision of education reflects changing service models.This willdeliver an integrated workforcecomprisingindividuals from aspectrum ofprofessional andother backgrounds.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced NHS Consultant with a thorough understanding of the specialty training across the region and who will also have strong leadership and communication skills and be able to work effectively as a member of a multi-professional team.
This specific role relates to ST6 & 7and supportsthe delivery of the Level 3 curriculum. Thesuccessfulcandidatewillbe responsible forarrangingthe allocation of training opportunities for Level 3 trainees,whichinvolves meeting all trainees who are due tocommencetheir SITM training and matching them to the training opportunities.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

The length of appointment will be for 3 years plus potential for a3 yearextension subject to agreement of both parties
