Job summary CT/MR Radiographer The Radiology team at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI) have an exciting opportunity for four CT trained Radiographers to join our team working on three CT scanners and one MRI scanner. At the RLI, we have introduced a full 7 day CT service with dedicated night Radiographers to undertake trauma and emergency imaging, as well as in-patients. There are three full time, 37.5 hour posts and one 25 hour post. Shift times will be 7:30am to 8:30pm, worked over three days per week, Monday to Sunday, with the possibility of set weekdays. Suitable applicants must be patient centred, caring and professional with recent CT experience or a willingness to train in CT, a Diploma of the College of Radiographers or BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography and be registered with the HCPC. Experience in MR is advantageous but not a requirement. Main duties of the job The RLI is on the doorstep to the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, the Trust is set in some of the most remarkable surroundings in the UK, facilitating an abundance of outdoor activities. There are many OFSTED "Good" and "Outstanding" state primary schools which feed into excellent secondary schools. There are Boys and Girls grammar schools which consistently rank in the top 5 in the North West as well as Lancaster University, ranked the best in the North West and 8th in the Country. The M6 and rail network provide easy access to Manchester and other city centres.Working within the CT department at the RLI provides opportunities to gain excellent experience in a wide range of CT imaging procedures including trauma, MSK, neurological, vascular, paediatrics and oncology. We also offer Radiographer led CTC, and cardiac imaging. The Radiology department is equipped with Sectra PACS and RIS. The CT department is equipped with three GE CT scanners. About us The Trust operates from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
