We have a 12 month fixed term position available (full-time / part-time / job-share considered), for individuals with a positive attitude and good communication skills, who are keen to share their clinical knowledge and experience to support and enhance the learning on the ward.
Our Neonatal Unit is situated within Broomfield Hospital, and is part of the East of England Operational Delivery Network. The Neonatal Ward is a Level 2 Local Unit and offers comprehensive neonatal services, which include Intensive Care cots, High Dependency cots, Special Care cots, and a Transitional Care Service.
We have achieved Gold Award Bliss Accreditation. We strive to provide high quality, safe and effective care and are looking for someone with the vision, skill and enthusiasm to help take the unit forward.
We have Stage 2 BFI and continue to work towards stage 3.
Main duties of the job
As a Band 7 Neonatal Practice Development Nurse, you will have the Neonatal Qualified in Speciality Course, NLS Course, Mentorship/Practice Assessor & Supervision (or equivalent) course, and have the vision and skills to facilitate high quality clinical learning for the current and future workforce.
As a senior member of the team, you will be a professional role model and enhance the clinical and learning environment, providing support to staff and students to provide excellent care to our neonatal patients and their families.
To be successful you will possess excellent organisational, communication and team working skills, and the ability to deliver high quality, holistic care with an emphasis on working in partnership with children and their families.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will:
* work closely with the management team to ensure that the patient experience is of the highest quality, inspiring patient, and public confidence. This will be achieved through high visibility, accessibility, and surveillance.
* maintain a professional profile and develop skills, knowledge and competencies adhering to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Trust Policies and Procedures.
* display strong professional leadership qualities, which are critical to the quality of care, staff morale and the learning environment.
* facilitate clinical staff caring for neonatal patients in identifying opportunities for maintaining and improving standards of patient care.
* provide and facilitate teaching, practice development and professional learning initiatives within neonatal areas for all nursing and medical staff.
* offer professional guidance and support to clinical staff.
* support and facilitate innovation in care provision in a structured and systematic way.
* participate in the development of guidelines and implementation in practice and ensure these are audited.
* work closely with the management team and neonatal nurses to ensure robust processes are in place to meet the units governance, training, and education agenda.
* support with the management of the practice assessor and supervisor requirements for the Neonatal Unit.
* be responsible for the support and development of all neonatal staff, particularly newly qualified, new members of the team, those undertaking QIS course and those on supervised practice.
* support the management team in the review of workforce requirements, skill mix and recruitment to ensure a workforce fit for practice and safe levels of staffing skill mix and numbers within the neonatal unit.
* work collaboratively with all disciplines to promote the development of a competent workforce.

Salary: £46,148 a year (Per Annum, Pro Rata for Part Time)
